Here's the scoop.
About 4 weeks ago I tried to install a UMAX Scanner on my new computer. This was a mistake.
Immediately after I rebooted my computer after
installing the scanner; my computer crashed.
After a few grueling days; I finally got it back on-line, but now it seems that either the registry is corrupt; or that something is horribly wrong with it.
The error messages I get are:
1. PCI Audio not found! <- I am running off of C-Media 3D
2. NvCpl.dll error. Cannot load the device (or something to that effect)
Following:
3. Rundll32.exe error!
As well as:
4. Could not load NVIEW32.dll!
All are error messages. At current; I can barely run anything. If it requires graphics; I have to reinstall the drivers. Once I do, I get one bootup where the drivers are said to still not work...
But the games run anyway. However; once I reboot from there, the games go Kaput!
So...
Does anyone have ANY ideas for me?
Points to make clear:
1. I do NOT have a back-up of my registry.
2. Nothing on my computer motherbord has fused.
3. I am running on a Over-clocked motherboard.
4. The hardware specifications are as follows:
OS: Windows 98 SE (Second Edition)
Graphics Adapter: NVidia GeForce 4 (
Sound System: C-Media 3D
Hard Drive: (Unknown) <- Not corrupted
All BIOS Settings set to automatic.
CMOS has not reset.
Windows detects my audio driver; but I cannot choose it in the Multimedia application in the System folder.
So; now I await a response.
Respond soon!

Found the exact wording:
Is as follows:
1. Rundll32.exe Error!
2. "Error loading C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\NvCpl.dll... A dynamic link
library (DLL) intialization routine failed."
3. Nview32.dll Error! - Could not initialize!
Audio:
1. Quote from System application:
"C-Media AC-97 WDM Audio Device... This driver is enabled and
active." Next tab: "No errors found."
2. Quote from Multimedia:
"Can not find Audio device."
I've reinstalled ALL my Audio drivers from the Win98 SE Cd-rom, and
there were no changes. Someone please help; I can't fix this thing
on my own!

Update your video drivers, the NvCPL is for nVidia cards. Get the new detonators from nVidia.

Toughguy000, wiping the drive is a totally unnecessary suggestion for what appears to be a simple missing driver or driver conflict issue.
