Just ordered Throne of Bhaal :)

I'll probably get it before this weekend ... can't wait to play it - being the last in the series, I can't help but feel overly attached to my main character, who I've been playing since Baldur's Gate 1 almost three years ago...

I hope it would be a great end to the series - and a good prep for NeverWinter Nights ... oh Nova, do they plan to make it possible to import characters from BG2 to NWN? Doubt it, but just wanted to make sure

I have all their RPGs except for BG2. I think I may have to buy it sometime soon.

Well, just got my BG2: TOB at work today ... gonna try and start playing it tonight... would be an awesome night

Btw, I also ordered the D2 expansion - I'm curious as to how I can play a druid, since I already got a feel for it at the LA3 LAN Party... Maybe I can even post a review about it, hehhee...

Oh, and my brother bought Anarchy Online, so I can get to try that too without even spending any money, lol

Oh it's a cool ending to the series all right... there are multiple endings

And yes, theoretically you'll be able to import bg2 characters to nwn

Actually, I just started playing through BG2... I figure this time I'll actually finish it. I'm playing an evil half orc barbarian. Specialized in two handed combat... with flails, hammers, and axes.

I attack, and things die.

Both my clerics can finger of death beholders... and my mage just waves a hand in the general direction of enemies and they die.

I'm having fun

Betcha by golly wow! This expansion is looking awesome so far... I'm already mixing it up with the Fire Giants ... I must say, Sarevok kicks major ass! My frontline is my fighter, Sarevok and Minsc, and with all of us at level 21, we're virtually unstoppable (so far) ...

I bought this and an expansion (Swords of ???) a couple of weeks ago, but I haven't even fired it up. It looks like I need to create a full party? That's why I haven't started. I'd rather get off on the right foot and not become disappointed in this game. Any suggestions? Maybe I've been overreading/underreading the guide?

Hey Kane

Do you mean you bought Baldur's Gate 1 and its expansion (Tales of the Sword Coast)? If so, you don't actually need to form a full party if you're playing single player... you just create one, and throughout the story you will be getting NPCs to build up your six-person party...

That's what I was asking Laggy.

Yeah, that's them. I just looked at the boxes. So, is it going to kill me to start out with a mage? Or should I do a warrior or something else? I've always started with warriors or archers. I need a change on a new game.

I'm an old D&D player from 20 years ago. I'm not going to know the creatures at all. And this is supposed to be a "version 2" of the D&D rules as opposed to Advanced D&D from a score of years.

I best just jump in and see what happens. I just don't want to get fed up or decide I need to start over.

BG1 sucks ass. Just skip it and play 2. The first chapter of BG2 explains pretty much anything important of BG1 that happened.
