--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just bought a new soundcard, the Nightingale Value by Zoltrix. It says it is full duplex, but when I try to run 2 programs at once (ie winamp and ICQ-ICQ messaging typing sounds on ) I can only hear one.
What's wrong?
it's newly installed. Is it the speakers?

Thanks in advance

Zoltrix....ahhhhhh......runs away.

My very first PC was a Pentium 100. I did not know very much about hardware back then so I bought it at a local clone shop. Little did I know he used mainly Zoltrix parts....welcome to the club. Do yourself a favour and chuck that thing as far away from your computer case as possible.

Zoltrix parts are very cheap. The sound card in the above crap system I once had...was so bad, that the card was a reconditioned board with a different chip soldered onto it. As a consequence, the drivers I received would not work with it, nor could any drivers I found on the Zoltrix site. I would not deal with any Zoltrix parts ever again.

return that card and get a sblive of some sort

Full Duplex means the card has the ability to record and playback at the same time, usually used via Roger Wilco, Battlecom, and other such programs.

What you are talking about is sound channels, I believe. Different sound cards have different amounts of channels. But, unless you payed under $10 for that sound card, I say return it.

Bleh I bought it for ~22 bucks.
NOOOO I told that focker I wanted something by Creative. It was raining like it never rains and he told me I would have to wait half an hour for one of his guys to run down to the warehouse. I was soaked (No umbrella) and the Air conditioning in the mall was killing me. So I took the easy way out. I bought another one. NOOOOOOOOOOOO.
