Diablo 2 LOD Locking Up

Hello. I have been getting disconnected from my game a lot. Since I play mostly hardcore this is sometimes fatal. Just before disconnect, I can move my character around,.but cannot open a portal, or do any damage to the monsters. When I exit the game it takes a long time to get back to the join screen,...sometimes getting a disconnected message. I have reinstalled the game,.defragged,.... checked LOD CD for damage,..etc. I do not get this problem in other applications,.....just D2. Any suggestions please? Thanks

Just to be clear,....when the game locks and I exit it takes a long time and the I usually get a disconnect error. Sometimes I will just get dropped while I am idle in the game also.

You're experiencing lag. Lots of it.
The only thing you can do besides speeding up your connection is kicking Battle.net in the nuts.

Yes,...lag,......but sometimes the game runs fine for 20-30 minutes,.then a sudden lockup. Alose sometimes it takes a long time to reconnect :_(
