LCD Monitor

The monitor that I have now is starting to act a little strange every now and then (image becoming skewed, lines across the screen, etc.) so I decided that I want to look into getting a new one. I would really like to get an LCD flat panel, I've seen the quality of their image at work and I'm very impressed. I was just curious what the life expectancy on LCD monitors is. This is my last year in high school, and I would like the monitor that I get to last me through most if not all if college. I'm not a heavy gamer anymore, so there won't be too much fast motion going on the screen.
The monitor that I had my eye on was the Planar 19" PX191, if anyone was interested.

since the refresh rate wont be an issue for you, you can expect good performance. however, at this time, they are rather short lived. making it through 5 years is very unlikely. a crt will last you that long, barring some odd defect.

Is there any website that you could point me to that might have evidence of the length of life for a typical LCD monitor?

Come to think of it now, it seems to me like they should last a long time, because laptop screens usually do. And laptop screens get a heck of a lot more of a beating than a monitor will.
