Computer restarts when playing CS

Hello! Hope to get some suggestions on how to solve this problem.

I bought a new comp. last week and have had trouble with it ever since I installed it. After ca 30 or 40 minutes of playing Counter-Strike, the computer just restarts without warning. This has become pretty annoying.

I've double-checked the Fan and CPU, and have also checked the memory for dust, and it was clean. I've confirmed that my BIOS is the latest available. I've tried reinstalling Counter-Strike a couple of times. Nothing yet have solved the problem.

The temperature of the CPU is quite normal. It's around 40 degrees Celsius when the computer is idling, and when I'm working with it it gets up to around 55 degress.

I've noticed that my graphics-card heatsink gets extremely warm though, and I wonder if that's what causes the comp. to restart. It didn't come with a Fan, just a simple Heatsink...and it seems that it doesn't do much help in cooling the graphic-CPU.

Any replies will be appreciated

Thanks!

you dont say what vid card you have, but if its on par with the rest of your system, it should definitely have an operating fan on it.

Oh yeah forgot that, sorry. It's the Palit Daytona GeForce FX 5200 card I have.

I was curious if it could be either that or the PSU, but I have a 360W PSU, and I guess that should be enough to cover the devices and fans I've got installed.

Cheers!

well, the psu would cut out when the power usage went up, not after 40 min. if its generally during the same time frame, its heat. cpu or video, something is cooking.

Yeah it's always around the same time frame that the computer restarts, and always during gameplay.

When I work applications in XP it's just as stable as ever. Works like a charm.

I guess I'll have to look into VGA-cooling systems. I don't know if I'm all that keen on installing yet another fan.

Maybe a Zalman ZM80A-HP graphic card heatsink will do just as well? I've heard that they're pretty good.

Cheers!
