starcraft multiplayer help

for some reason, i cannot play the multiplayer part of starcraft. the connection times out. i think it might have something to do with my cable connection to the internet please HELP!!!

is this batte.net that you are talking about? LAN? modem?

do you have a firewall? did you try an alternative gateway; east or west? make sure its aloud to go through your firewall

i dont know if i have a firewall but if i do, it doesnt interfere with any other games. the gateways show up as battle.net 1. battle.net 2, etc. i should also mention that i have 2 computers hooked up to a cable and multiplayer works on the other one which is older and slower.
