Hey guys just found this forum, I hope someone can help

when I goto in multiplayer -> tcp/ip game it shows my ethernet ip 192.168.0.100 and thus I cannot play with my friend and he cannot connect to my server, if he hosts it just says please wait... and I stopped it after a good while

my setup is this box, going to a linux router -> going to the web, any help would be appreciated, thanks guys

You'll need to know your external IP in order to play. Diablo 2 is reporting your internal IP, which is what the router assigns to your computer. If the router is set up to forward the diablo 2 ports to your machine, telling your friend the external ip (ip the router gets from the ISP) will enable him to connect to you.

That's the easiest way to find your IP if you're on XP and behind a router..

go to www.showmyip.com The IP at the top of the page in big numbers is your external IP
