Splinter Cell Crashes on start up yet Unreal starts

Hi All
Over the weekend I installed Splinter Cell and Unreal T2003. Unreal wors like a charm yet when I start Spilnter Cell its say play Splinter Cell and executes as if its aboutto start and then crashes. It freezes my entire computer to the point that I have to reset my computer to work. Can help me out please.

Do you have windows up to date, and are you using the latest drivers for your video card?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Splinter Cell?

I have installed the lates drivers and I have Dirx.9 isntalled.
I have to say the installation did fail the windows logo testing phase. May this be some an indicator of some sort

I'm not sure if the splinter cell data is compressed on the install cds, but if it isn't, you should be able to just copy all the files over to your computer manually.
If you think all the files have been installed correctly, try deleting your splintercell.ini (or whatever it's called, an ini file with the same name as the game executable).
