Microsoft's next major release of the Windows operating system, codenamed 'Longhorn' for developement, has been delayed again. 'Longhorn' was originally going to debut and ship in 2004, but in May 2003, the release date was changed to 2005.
Now, at a company financial analyst meeting, Bill Gates has announced that at "We do not yet know the time frame for Longhorn, but it will involve a lot of innovative and exciting work." The release date is again uncertain.
It's been widely speculated that 'Longhorn' will involve more 'distributed computing' features, where programs are run off a central server rather than the user's home PC, and will incorporate many digital rights management features.

It's not shocking, it just.. happened. Of course release dates will be pushed back. This isn't a bad thing, just one that some people want to know about.
