SNES Power Problems

I'm having problems getting my SNES to work. The power doesn't activate when I turn it on. I used to think it was my power Adapter that was messed up, as replacing it almost fixed the problem; but then, I got another SNES, and this one doesn't work either.

I can't get either system to run now. They used to work if the adapter wire was positioned *just* so. Any ideas what I can do?

Edit: I've switched to the better system. It seems the power turns on now without fiddling with the fire, but it only stays on for less then a second and it doesn't turn on again. To get it going, I have to shut it off, unplug the adapter, plug in the adapter, and shut it on; and then it does the whole, less then one second thing again.

My first guess would be that the adapter if malufunctioning but you said you replaced that and it was doing the same thing.

Next I would say your SNES is having the issue, and replacing that would be your best bet as not too many places out there cary any kind of replacement parts for them.

I don't think it's my SNES, as I've tried two. I guess I'll have to try an adapter--if that doesn't work, I guess I'm stuck with Emulation.

Gamestop and Software Etc both carry replacement power adapters for around 5-10 you could try one of those. If you don't have one in your area then eBay always has them on there. You just end up paying more.

Thanks, I picked one up from jandaman.com for $5 plus S&H.

Cheers!
