Great deal on this. I had always wanted one, and it doesnt get any better than $10. My total was $14.67 with shipping and tax.

What exactly does it "do" to increase sound quality..

Im using the Winamp plugin right now and there is no way I will ever listen to anything again without this thing. Try it out:

That plugin actually makes it sound worse for me

First, make sure it "on"

I sat there a min or 2 saying "this sounds the same" too, then i found the on button. Then mess around with the settings. I like the Wow about the middle and trubass almost to the highest.

I'm going to be honest.
I downloaded and installed the winamp plugin, and all it seems to do is increase the treble and bass, nothing I can't do on my speakers control panel and winamp equalizer.

While this may help with smaller speakers, or cheap speakers, to me, it just makes things more complicated, and it either clutters my desktop, or my system tray, both of which don't need more clutter.

yeah.. I played with it for five minutes. Sounds worse.

I don't even have Winamp's equalizer turned on. The Soundstorm software handles all that, and does it quite well.

Heh, I didn't even know the soundstorm software had an equalizer until you said something. Reet.
