Windows 2K Pro LAN problem

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I Am trying to help a friend set up a small 3 machine LAN so we can play network games and share his internet connection.

Two computers are working perfectly and can see each other fine, print to each othere etc.

The third, which has the ISDN connection won't set up properly.

I installed the NIC and P&P detected it and installed the drivers etc, but when I look at network and Dial up connections, no LAN connection has been installed.

I try to install any connection at all and it tells me it fails because of lack of memory or insufficient HDD space.

I have doubled the space available for the Registry, upped his RAm from 64 to 256 Meg and he has 6 gigs of HDD space free.

Any ideas?

try another network card or maybe the current one is not seated properly. If all is ok physically then the device manager should not have any exclamation etc. this must be clean. Check and make sure the all the protocols are installed that you will need.

Good luck

The NIC is installed fine. Tried all the usual tricks, like reseating, trying a different NIC, latest drivers etc.

This seems much more of an OS issue than HW

remember to check your protocols suck as tcp/ip that you might need.

If all fails; i suggect you re-install windows and last but not least check the bios for any configuration that relates to LAN.
