Help with synch issue

Hi, I'm new to this place so please forgive me if I generate a faux pas or two. It's not intentional.

My boss is in Papau New Guinea with her laptop and handheld. She syncs her handheld with her laptop, accesses the web from her laptop and then opens a VPN to access our server at our facility. Then she synchs her Outlook with the Exchange server here. Over the past few days, her Contacts in Outlook have been disappearing. Some of them new contacts she asks me to put in and some of them contacts that have been there since we set up her account. It's not all of the contacts, and there seems to be no pattern to which ones get deleted/lost/sucked into hyperspace. Her laptop is running XP Pro, OfficeXP Pro, our Exchange server is on a Win2k server and the system I use to access her account (for local admin purposes) is running Win98 with Office2000 Pro. And, believe me, I know about the disparity of this whole mess, so I'd appreciate NOT hearing any guff about still running 98. It's a sore spot with me.

So, can anyone out there help me???
