Can not delete files from desk top

From Windows XP Home Edition.
I have 2 files on my desk top that I can't delete or move it saids (can not delete file: can not read from the source file or desk ) name of files nControlwidth and PusessionID.
Scan for viruses no viruses
How can I delete it.
