Everytime i log on to aol, all these programs in the back ground pop up like when i press control alt delete, there are 15 other names in there like sccenter, save, motmom, pctvoice, realplay, et. etc. how can i get rid of them loading, it makes my computer run terrible and knocks me off help i am tired of looking up stuff on here that doesn't apply!

Thanks, Robin

well, it depends on the Operating system your using... but usually it means you have a lot of installed stuff that runs on startup. Click Run, and type "msconfig", then go to startup and select what you dont want

hey umm... in my opinion some of that stuff is spyware.

check http://www.answersthatwork.com/Task.../tasklist_s.htm
for the full listing, but i think save.exe is considered a spybot.... if you have the time, look up the applications you don't know, at that site before you disable them.

Two things you should do.

1. Grab a copy of AdWare and search for, then remove all of the spyware.

2. Click start, then run and type msconfig. Click the startup tag and unselect the names of the unwanted programs, leave systray checked it is a vital system function.

i recommend Spybot: Search and Destroy and StartUp Cop by pc magazine.

Read this page well:

http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.htm

Compare what you have loading at startup to the Pac's Portal list and disable the unnecessary.

You should read both pages of this site (click on more spybot help at the bottom of the first page to go to the second):

http://tomcoyote.org/SPYBOT/
