I have installed wireless network cards in my desktop and laptop. I connect to internet using a DSL/Hub router. I use windows XP Home. I connect to net fine. I cannot setup a Home Network so I can share printer and files. I have Norton Firewall installed on both conputers. I cannot make any connection via home network. Whats my problem?

Try removing or disabling the Norton firewall on both computers to see if that's the problem... I'm betting that's it. If it is, we can troubleshoot from there.

If the firewall is not blocking the needed ports.Try letting windows install the network for you. Go to My network places then in network tasks, set up home or small office network . Make sure to enable file and print sharing, and make sure you name both pc's.

It's worth noting that Win XP Home was not designed with Networking in mind. You should consider upgrading to Win XP Pro as this is more network orientated.

Steve01, XP Home was designed with small home networks in mind. XP Pro is more office-feature oriented and designed for use on large networks with central servers.

There should be no problem creating a home network with a router/hub, broadband, and two XP Home computers.
