XP Pro and my Web Server Log

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: fweaver

I left my Windows XP Machine up last night but locked. I noticed this morning on my W2K server from my Web Server log files that my XP box attempted to connect to the Web Server. No one was on the machine at the hours that it appears to have tried to connect. Is this just some OS action that XP normally carries on, or did someone have control of the XP box, or was the address spoofed?
The following is an example of the Web Server log.

192.168.5.2 - - [10/Sep/2003:03:42:26] "OPTIONS / HTTP/1.1" 200 0
192.168.5.2 - - [10/Sep/2003:03:42:26] "PROPFIND /sysvol HTTP/1.1" 405 319

No one was awake at this time, and this is the first time I have left the machine up over night. What are the possibilities?

Thanks
Frank

Your XP box attempted to check its connection to its webshare. This is normal.
