xp home networkproblem

i try to connect 3 computers by using hub (2 pc and my new asus a2 series notebook) the problem is, pcs can see each other normally there isn't any problem with file transfer but notebook have some problems that i can't solve although i tried every thing i know, the problem is it sometimes sees pcs and have normal file transfer but mostly i cannot access to the pcs... for example if i restart notebook 10 times it see others only one time.. i'm using xp home ed. in notebook one of pcs has xp pro. and other has win me.. is something wrong about the hardware of the notebook or its properties... pls help me

I guess one of the easiest things to check first would be to try a different network cable to see if that's where the problem is. If it's not that, you could look to see if their are any updated drivers for you Lan on the notebook.

If it's not a hardware issue, then read through This Guide from Microsoft's Site on how to set up a home network using XP, to make sure you have everything configured properly between the XP Pro and XP Home machine.

Make sure that all of the computer are using the same workgroup and domain. Often, if the workgroup name is diferent, you can see the other computers some of the time but not necesarly everytime.
