I spend about 50.00 a week buying these drinks. So I decided to buy the ingredients and make my own, only trouble is they wont sell the vanilla powder or whatever it is that finishes off the frapp. Does anybody who what to use as a substitute? thanks.........

This has got to be the wierdest post that I have ever answered, but my cousin who works at Starbucks suggests that you use vanilla ice cream.

Thanks!! maybe I can curb my withdrawals now.......

"only trouble is they wont sell the vanilla powder or whatever it is that finishes off the frapp".
you can probably find the powdered ice cream next to the powdered milk at your grocery store...

It could be anthrax!

Vanilla extract can be found at some stores - though it's usually used for baking.
I wonder if it's the same thing.

uhawk its prolly not, + have you ever tasted that stuff before you make with it(strait outa the bottle) dude its nasty

Some larger grocery stores in major metro areas actually sell ingriedients for the fancy coffee drinks. These stores also sell ICE CREAM mixes for those who like to make their own ice cream but are too lazy to go all the way and make it from scratch from the custard. Flavored powdered coffee creamer products might be a viable alternative for you.

OMG - You're all master chefs!!! I didn't think people in the know about computers could cook. I can't and don't have a clue about all these ingredients. you should open up a cooking forum. I can just imagine the description "Do you have a problem with what ingedients to use? have you blown up your kitchen recently? Don't worry, our Kitchen Technicians are here to heal you wounds" - LOL.

Get me the Recipe for a Starbucks Carmel Frapachino and I will be in debt to you forever.. I love these things.. but limit myself to one a week.. since they are like $4.27 each... it's my "treat" but if I could make them at home.. well then.. it would be a daily thing.

Send the check to OTS Tech Support in care of: Canis Lupus Recipe Fund...

I was going to Starbucks every morning for seven straight months in my last job ... always ordered a Venti Mocha though...
An OTS Coffee Fund doesn't sound so bad

i loved that frozen coffe they made at dunkin donuts, so one day i decided what the hell, I'll try it on my own. So I made regular coffee, stuck it in the fridge for a bit..... took it out, the stuff tasted like Crap!
but that was when i was in college.. and did dumb things like that....

It's not as bad as that #%*(ing word association thread over there...
I must say, I've always liked the way coffee smells a lot more than the way coffee tastes - despite the fact that most of the taste in the coffee DOES come from its smell.

I really like coffee, i normally don't have time for it or just am too lazy to make it, and i'm not gonna buy it when it's hella expensive unless i really feel the need to, i'll have a few cups after dinner at a nice restaurant, or in the mornin on special occasions when i'm up early for an odd reason, or when i abuse it... IE finals last year... yay 9 cups making my head explode!
frappucinos are pretty damn good though, too expensive though, damn yuppies

yup, that's it... this thread is now going to join paths with word association and cause more evil....

None of that Yuppie stuff here, I want my spoon to stand up in the cup...
When I drink Coffee, the words (<-plural) I associate with it (Coffee) are Truckstops and Greasy Spoons, cream and sugar, bacon and eggs, pancakes and sausage, oatmeal and English Muffins, Waitresses and short dresses, 15 minutes late and 20 miles away...
