yes, virginia
there is really a psychic tech support.

based on this morning's perusal of news of the wierd by chuck shepard in my morning newspaper, I spit out my tea leaves and picked president Bush by a defective voting machine or two...

the news?

the CEO of Diebold, Inc., a leading manufacturer of voting machines that register votes through the company's unique technology, committed in August to support president George W. Bush's re-election and wrote a fund raising letter for Ohio Republicans.

Haha! Will they be putting those defective voting machines in Florida to make it a fool-proof alibi?

well, it was the bush election that put the guy in buisiness. if gore would have won, i doubt anyone woulda cared long term about the cards, because then the electoral votes woulda matched up with the popular vote. and people really wouldnt have had a reason to feel disenfranchised. and only disenfranchaised people seem to persuade change.

though, it is stupid of him to announce his support for bush. that basically is allowing the comparison: "If i vote, republicans will get money." it definately introduces bias into the political process. the more poor, typically democratic counties that upgrade because they now have to, the more financial support republicans get.

but just because he is in his industry, doesnt mean he cant support his political beliefs. but if one dime of his company's money touches the republican party then he should definately be fired. and he better not be giving different prices to different districts.
