Counter-Strike 1.6

I just installed CS 1.6 with the Steam Client a few days ago and it worked fine. Now whenever I try to launch a game it says that I have an invalid Steam ID. I have already emailed Valve and they are playing the silent role so does anyone else have any sugestions? Thanks in advance.

im gettin a weird problem too , i can connect to any cs 1.6 serv with steam i want but this one , i cant figure why.. i dunno why its this one serv , but when i try to connect to it , it says...
" You have been disconnected from the server. Reason: Error verifying STEAM UserID Ticket (Server was unable to contact, The Authentication server 27.)"
i dont think it could be the server , seeing as how ive seen other ppl on there and my friend plays on the server... so umm , how come i cant connect to this server??

hmm the new steam update says it was gonna fix this problem but i got the update and i still have it XD

heh im stupid lol i signed out then back in and steam works 100% fine now :P

I just did a reinstall of Steam, and it worked fine. And it kept all my settings, favs,etc......
Just go to the .exe file and click on it, it is very smooth reinstall process....

For a bit of revival, does anyone know how to install custom skins with the steam client in use?
