reformatting

I am trying to wipe out an old computer to reinstall windows on it, But I can not remember how to wipe it out. Can any one help me? I would like a sep by sep reply.

get a bootable setup disk.
boot with it.
format c:

Redwench is right about the Format C, but so you carry your system files to your freshly formatted drive I would use the command line Format C: /S

its unlikely she wishes to keep her system files, or she wouldnt be reinstalling windows.
