Hi,
Our GameCube have stopped responding to disks (After installing a game disk, the GC doesn't recognise the disk and gives the message to insert the disk!! although the disk does spin), after taking it to a repair shop they've indicated that the laser lens is the problem and neads a replacement!!!!!!!!!!!.
I have 2 questions.... 1) From my problem explanation, do you feel their reply is reasonable??? 2) If yes and it does need a new laser lens, could you please advice on a supplier in the US or UK to buy this lens from, due to the fact that I'm in a country where PS, PS2, XBox is dominated and there are not much of GC spare parts here!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Thanks and Best Regards,

if i were you, i would just buy a new one. just take it to an erb store (if there are any of em where you live) and give them your gamecube, and theyll give you about $60 towards a new one.(that means theyll deduct $60 from the cost of a new one that you would buy. i did that with my ps2, onl;y they gave me $100 for it.

well if his gamecube is still under waranty he could probly send it in somewhere and get it fixed for free wouldnt u think?? and if its not... it probly owuld be cheaper to trade in old one and get new one... seeing as how gamecube is like only $100 right now , $60 trade in... only $40 to shell out....

There are disks you can get for cleaning your laser lens, although i have no idea if there are mini-disk lens cleaners or not. is the lens just not working or is it dirty? =P
in any case, good luck with that.
