everything was working fine when i was using the onboard sound

switched to an echo sound card, and now almost everything works ok, only i can't get sound out of audio cd's to play anymore. i open a cd player (musicmatch, windows cd player, cakewalk pyro...tried a few) and the cd will be recognized and i hit play and the track time will count down, but no sound! i can read files from cd and sound files play fine...

the cd-rom is set as the secondary master drive - should i try switching this?

thanks!

look for a third line behind your cd drive. it should be attached to your sound card. the other two would be the power and ide cables. make sure its properly attached to the sound card and the drive.
