Ok, here's the deal just bought a GeForce FX 5600
followed the instructions to the 'T'
got the lastest drivers from Nvidia, and also checked windows update to make sure I wasn't missing anything there.
currently running a AMD athalon 1.2 512 RAM on an ASUS motherboard.
Every game I try to run it will start but then pops up a window that says
Runtime Error!
...."path to the games exe file"
unusual program termination.
Has anyone seen this before, know how to fix it? I hate to hope I just dropped all this coin on a card that doesn't work with my system

OK, the first thing to do is to try installing the Detonator FX version 43.45. There is some known incompatability with the 45.43 drivers so try that frist. The second is to grab the latest patches for the games that do not work.
You should also check in your bios to ensure that AGP 8X is enabled and that AGP fastwrite is off as it can often cause instability in some computers. Finally if that does not solve the problem, try changing the AGP app size to the amount of memory that you have on the vcard.
