Internet Explorer popups

I've been plagued by IE popups for a few days now. It's something new and I don't know why I'm getting them all of a sudden. I'm virus free, I've run ad-aware, I've deleted my temporary Internet files and still have these darn popups.
Will somebody please tell me how to stop them? I have been successfully using the free version of Panicware's Popup Stopper but this is something new. Help!!!!!

Thanks Shalome,
They're not messenger popups but I seem to have done something to stop them. I turned on my Norton ad blocker and they've stopped.
