Toshiba Laptop problems 7200 Series

Hi,
I was just had a strange occuence with my laptop that never happened before. The laptop overheated so much that it was very hot to the touch and I mean hot, its never run that hot ever.This is the little story how it happened. I placed the laptop in its docking bay and proceeded about my business, when i came back about an hour later I went to pick it up out of the bay and darn well nearly burnt the paw off myself. When I looked at the screen the battery was down to 3% and then it locked up. So obviously i didnt have it properly mounted on the bay to begin with. PLease someone help me with this problem and tell me if this is common. Thanks in advance. Tony
