Missing SRV Records

Development Box config:
W2k Server
2 ethernet cards -- 1 active -- 1 disabled
The disabled ethernet card is only activated on
projects that require access to high speed printers.
I installed Active Directory and the SRV records were missing. I have seen this before upgrading NT4.0 to W2k with AD, so I did the flush and registering of DNS and stopped and started netlogon and still no SRV records. I enabled the disabled ethernet card that bridges to our Production network and performed the same DNS Flush routine and the SRV records appeared and all is fine. After that I again disabled the 2nd ethernet card. Can someone explain why I had to enable the 2nd ethernet card before active directory would complete the DNS properly? These are 2 separate domains on different subnets.
