TVMD go away!

Ok, well there is this program in my windows folder called TVMD. It's used by windows whenever it comes on. My search and destroy, mcafee, and adaware all find it, and it's been deleted quarentined etc, but it keeps coming back. Sometimes it will have an illegal operation and will have to reboot whole computer. I'm pretty sure I don't want it there. It's always there before I even go online!

Never heard of this one. Have you checked the startup tab of msconfig for any references to this?
Apparently it is reinstalling itself after you delete it. If you find any entries for it on the startup tab of msconfig, uncheck and click apply, then try to delete the file(s). There are several places this might be being called from, win.ini, autoexec.bat, maybe others. Do you have no idea when this file or folder appeared?
It may be a false positive, but with all those programs finding it, it is unlikely. You may need to disable system restore to delete all your restore points (if you use WinME or XP) so that it won't reappear from there, then you can re-enable it after you have ridded yourself of this item. After unchecking or reming out (with a semi-colon at the beginning of the line in win.ini), you may be able to delete the file and it stay deleted. Or you may need to do it from safe mode or even DOS.
