Halo PC technical issue

I installed my Halo perfectly. When I went and clicked on the icon it started up and said "IMPUT SIGNAL OUT OF RANGE". This came form my monitor not the game. The game was black, but I could hear sound. I have a brand new gateway FPD1930 flat screen monitor, a recently new Dell computer, and I have a GeForce4 Ti 4200 video card. I would love if I could get some help with this, including all possible ways to fix this, even if that means buy a new video card. Thanks for your time.

It means that the game is wanting a higher resolution than the monitor supports or it wants a higher refresh rate than the monitor supports at that resolution. Very strange that it didn't figure this out by itself. Go to display properties and try to install the monitor so the computer knows which monitor is connected to the computer. If that doesn't do it, then we'll have to think of something else .
