If you've gone to Windows Update and installed the "Critical Update Notification Utility" (or Automatic Updates), there is almost no need to visit the Windows Update page periodically for the critical updates, as they should automatically be downloaded to your computer and you'll be notified via the taskbar when they're ready to be installed...
