I recently formatted my neice's computer.It had win 98 with win XP home upgrade. when we downloaded the service pack and restarted the computer, it said we now have XP pro. The key that came with the XP home disk will not work.After we type in the key it comes up that we have the wrong key for the version on the computer and now we cannot get on to the computer.Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem.John

It sounds like you may have downloaded the wrong service pack. I would suggest reformatting and reinstalling, just to be sure.

Or, you may simply need to get an xp pro key code. Not hard to get !

yes, all you have to do is buy xp pro and youll have one.
