When I want to have a audio hook up with my friends I can hear them perfectly but they cannot hear me. It shows connection established and my mic and speakers as well as theirs are working. I have a new computer with windows xp and I have tried disabling the firewall but no help. When I had my old computer with windows me I did not have a problem. Can anyone tell me what to check or what is set up wrong? Please any suggestions. IT SHOWS THAT WE ARE CONNECTED ON BOTH ENDS!

Is the microphone connected correctly? Check the Volume Settings, the Microphone might be mute.

ensure that 1) your record volume is set to maximum, and that it is pluged into the proper line in and 2) your friend's volume is turned up
