laptop clock?

I have a HP 5415 laptop. The problem that I am having with it is that the clock won't stay set. Once before I had this problem with a desktop and the CMOS battery was dead. I changed the battery and fixed it. Do laptops have a CMOS battery or does the rechargeable battery take its place? If so, then if the rechargeable battery goes completely dead will that cause the clock to be off? I appreciate any comments/suggestions.

Yes. I recently had to partially disassemble my micron transport XKE to replace the bios battery. The clock works fine now and the computer has quit randomly locking up. Beware though, the battery may be in a hard to access location, it may be soldered in, or it may be soldered to a custom wiring harness. My bios battery was soldered to a custom harness and I had to risk destroying the new battery to solder it into the custom harness. I got lucky and it worked, just be aware that you might have to do some soldering.

Thanks for the reply. I'll probably get someone else to do it
