K, I wanna disable my firewall. I am running windows 2000. I need to disable it because I cant seem to play an online game by the name of Command and Conquer Renegade. It has happened before and I had to disable the firewall except back then I was running Windows XP. What happens is when I go online and go to game servers none come up. Usually it is crowded. Please help me!! Thank you in advance.

is this hardware or software firewall?

Posted by: Farseer_Euronus

Umm, I dont know. I remember that on XP I had to go to control panel then network options or summit like that.

I don't think W2K has a built in firewall like XP has (XP's is not so hot from what I have read).

Have you installed any third party firewalls such as; Kerio, Zone Alarm, Sygate, Outpost etc.?

If not and you don't have a router or hardware firewall (a piece of equipment between your computer and the internet) then I don't think you are running a firewall, which you really should be...

Oh, I have a router. I also have jetstream. Which by the way is very fast on my comp . If you dont have jetstream where you live its the type where youre always connected. And no, I havnt installed any firewalls of any type on my computer. Please help me!!!

okay, just so you know, a router doubles as a firewall, and is a much better one at that. You don't need any software firewalls.

Give us the brand and model number of your router.

Oh yeah, and don't PM people asking for help. Your thread was far from dead, and any time theres a new post in the thread it comes up in the "view new posts" section.

By lokking at the front I would say its a Nokia m11 but that just wat it says.
