IP/Router config Q. (Server related)

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Ok, I'll try to keep this as short and simple as possible.

I'm configuring a server with the windows server 2003 OS. From a web browser, I can get to my server (FTP & WWW) using my internal IP. I cannot however, access if from my external IP. As far as I know, I have to forward my external IP to my internal, but have NO idea where to do it from.

I have the DI-604 router if that help any.

What do I do? I'm *this* close to having my server running finally, but don't want to be handing out my internal IP, If you know where I'm coming from.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Robb

you have to set up port forwarding on the Dlink. in a web browser type in the IP of the router (probably 192.168.0.1) and put the admin password in. in the config probably under advanced or services you put in the ip of the 2k3 server along with the ports you want forwarded to it (in this case 80 and 21). I dont have a dlink so I cant be more specific but it should be apparent when you find it.
