bad directsound driver

Hi. I just recently added a new video card, ATI radeo 9000 to my pc, a K7s5a MOBO with 768 megs of ram.
After a day of watching flawless video and listening to music, I now have NO SOUND.
When I open winamp, i get the message, bad directsound driver. error code 88780078.
Please help. TIA
