Re-registering Win Me

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

A friend of mine donated a pc with an operating system to a company (private organization). The company wants to be legal and re register the software in their name. How do they go about doing it?

Do they contact Microsoft or is their a function in Windows that can do that?

The operating system is Windows Millenium. The hardware is a home built socket 370.

They would need to buy the software again, as I don't think the registration is transferrable...

Thanks.

Well if they also included the license with the WinME (the real thing), then it is OK. No copy kept by the seller (only one licence per software).
N.B. that software can be only installed on one PC or they will have to buy the multy user licence from MS, like companies do.
