Odd GameCube behaviour

Waaaah! Somebody help me! My GameCube's been acting really weird. With a few games, such as metroid, resident evil zero and smash bros., the disc drive is very prone to loud, sudden clicks and grinding noises when booting up the games or playing FMV, plus there are occasional errors, but it runs pretty smoothly and quietly with zelda, sonic adventure dx, mario sunshine, soul calibur 2 and most of my other games. It only seems to be noisy with games that are constantly loading data and pushing the drive to the limit, but I'm not sure. My cube is less than a year old and it never fell or anything. I tried nudging the lens holder back and forth a bit before turning the cube on, and it helps but only sometimes. Try playing the long, compressed bonus video in smash bros. and see how your own cube acts. I'd appreciate any help.

sounds like the drive is all most dead, go to the shop you bought it from and get a replacement...my ps2 did the same thing.
