Delayed intro

I skipped this part at first, I'm pretty new at message boards and wasn't really sure about it...but here is my delayed intro. I've been posting alot in the hardware forum so some of you might recognize me.

I'm a 26 male in dietetics, which I hate...but who cares.

I don't know much about computers, or didn't about a month ago before I started researching building a PC. I took two years of computer science in high school and although I was OK at programing in Pascal, I was still pretty ignorant about computers, plus everything I knew then is pretty much out the door today anyway.

I decided to dive in recently because I wanted a computer(never had one that worked) with only exactly what I wanted in it and the only way to do that was to build my own. I've big fan of the open source code movement, though I don't completely understand how it works, and I love the open records/access to information aspect of the internet I hope to play a role in the proliferation of both. Hopefully in the future I will be able to use these forums to make life easier for lost computer souls(like myself currently).
