Just got my brand new computer back from shop after I got locked out after trying to load software.
It seems that Norton System Works did not load completely and wiped out some of my registry.
READ THE END USER LISCENSE AGREEMENT!!!! and be careful when installing!!!!!!!!!!!

I've installed Norton plenty of times to know that your case is not too common. It is true that if you improperly install software you run the risk of damaging your registry, but thats considered common knowledge.

Norton isn't the evil force of the universe.
Stuff happens, it isn't a case of bad software for all, but just isolated conflicts.
