Can anybody please help a p.c. simpleton.
I tried to update the geforce 3 ti200 drivers from the update driver tab in display and I got the message half way through update.
Error in C:/WINDOWS/System32/NVCPL.DLL
Missing entry DLLRegister Server
After updating, Windows XP would not restart and I had to return to my previous configuration with my old driver.
I am fairly computer literate but when it comes to stuff like this I am out of my depth.
I am sure somebody out there knows what may be wrong and may be able to help.
Any tech stuff in simple village idiots language please!!
Please help, and thanks if you can.

looks like windows cant find the file :P

get a registry cleaner, registry first aid is one available for download on a trial basis, and run it. dont interrupt or stop it, just let it continue until its finished. hopefully it will locate your missing file and be able to restore it.

Go to Add/Remove Programs and remove all the NVidia stuff first, reboot before installing the new drivers.

It'd probably be a good idea to do this in Safe Mode.

I believe the Readme file says this.

Registry cleaners are riskey business, sometimes they can remove or change keys that are essential for your computer to run properly.

If you have XP try a simple System Restore, if that doesn't work I'd check the Nvidia website and see it anyone has had similar problems.
