AOL Disconnet

For the last 5 days I get disconnected from AOL 9.0 Broadband/Time Warner. Live tech support and phone tech support help none. Time Warner verifies signal strength. Have totally uninstalled and reinstalled 9.0. Ping test have been done.no problems. This happens when in AOL and it is idle for about 2 minutes..This is not an Idle Message problem..no message. Simply if the system is idle for a short period and I click on something, I get disconnected everytime. Sometimes, upon completing a lengthly email, when I click send, it disconnects. I have been thru 8 phone calls with AOL to no avail, numerous live chats, and the email support is the same thing over and over. At this point, AOL seems to think there is nothing they can do. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

well, i would suggest simply switching away from aol to your local broadband provider. it would use less computer resources, probably be cheaper and might solve the problem.

assuming youve done the aol checkup thang, disable everything that blocks net traffic. antivirus, firewall, router. shut down everything but aol and the system tasks. make sure your system isnt set for any kind of screensaver or power management. ensure your OS is updated. perhaps even use the repair function of your OS cd.

Thank you for your quick response. I have been considering a switch to Earthlink....do you have any advice on that?
