(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

...completed in 11 minutes with an amazing level of awesomeness attained in the process.

..I think it's fake...for several reasons. You weigh in.

thats bs

pretty kickass video, looks entirely possible too

Posted by: Null Actor

It's sped up.

Posted by: AltronHGX

Was pretty entertaining, though it didn't even come close to matching the Super Mario 1 video.

Posted by: chaosisreality

he skipped alot of worlds.

Posted by: SwizzleStick

Hence the title "Time Attack". He does awesome in some of the later worlds =D.

My guess is that hne played on an emulator using a save/restore function, and programed the emulator only to record the parts that he actually ended up keeping, thus making it look like he did it so well.

I mean like, he never ****ed up once. Thats damn hard to believe.

Uh...why do you guys think that its all setup/fake/sped up whatever? It is possible to beat the game that fast, I myself used to do it in about 30 mins. Didnt you see the other video of the first mario with a similar thing? Probably even the same guy.

Posted by: Cheese

It doesn't look sped up to me. The music and sound all go at what seems the right pace. Fibbi is probably right though, he never ****s up. Some of those levels in world 8 he is cutting it real close, I wouldn't be surprised if he recorded multiple times on each level.

I checked ;and the scores between levels corresponded, so I don't think it was patched together.Still pretty hard to beleive!

Being fake has nothing to do with the time, but the precision...and actually the lack of precision. There are parts of it that are very consistently, and precisely..well....wrong. He has the exact same close call multiple times. Makes me think it's programmed.

Edit: Of course, it also seems like he just slowed it down in an emulator, allowing for extremely high precision, then sped up the recording to a normal speed.

Whoa, cool video.

When he gets the leaf in the first world castle and he has the p power maxxed out so he can immediately fly when he gets the leaf.... very cool.

Some of the movements just dont look natural. Slowing it down on an emulator and then speeding it up seems very likely.

that's complete bs. there is no way that can be done normally. if it could've, i would've done it myself. also, why does it say world 8 in the game, and welcome to warp zone in english, but the mushroom guy is in japanese? that's not right. Something is definitely wrong about that. nobody can make moves that precise on every board. the odds of that are literally impossible, and if it was possible, every one of us who played that game would've mastered his technique.

Posted by: AK47

If it could be done, that doesnt automatically mean that anyone (yourself included) could do it. Michael Jordan plays basketball and he can dunk. I play basketball.... I cant dunk.

As for the language differences- some japanese games have english text in them.

I think the video is altered (fake), but not because of the reasons you listed.

That whole movie is probably fake, and I believe I found a place where that guy screwed up. While putting the movie together his character goes from Big to Small then back to Big mario. Watch the movie very closely from 8 minutes to 8 minutes and 20 seconds. You will see what I mean.

Posted by: Cheese

we've already established that the movie is a fake. But I just watched the part you were talking about. He's ducking under the spikes at that point. It gives the illusion that he's small because the floor starts moving pretty much the instant he ducks. He never stops, but he's definately still big.

Even if it is a fake, it is still amazing to watch the work they put into makint it (either the real work or the time it took to fake it )

anyone got a new link? hopefully something school("bess") approved...

i wanna watch it in lab
