The "Delphi XP Messup Problem"

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Ralph Armour

Seems to me Borland could be more helpfull on this one.
All my "techys" told me I must format & reinstall XP +++++++

Thanks to some tips from folks here, + me being too stupid to quit,
- I GOT IT!!!!!
- for me it was a program called "CPR" - found it in Contol Panel > Add / Remove Programs > CPR

Could not find it under "Program Files"

So, Backdate your windows Clock to before problem started > that should allow you to run all programs > then, check for CPR or any suspicious other program > Uninstall or "remove" it. It could be another program, not necessarily this one.
I have no idea what "CPR" does (other than messes up Windows), or where it came from.

Reset clock back to current. If you have the correct program, you are running again .

Seems to me Borland should take responsibility to help us folks - it is their software & it should never apply itself to Windows components ????
I have the luxury of removable imaged hardrive to test my theory knowing that I can go back to fixed drive if I screw up windows, most do not have that luxury - if you can "image" your C Drive, do so as precaution first.

My Thanks to all here - tips were helpfull to staying on target.

Confirmed - both identical drives A1 now
Ralph
