Best Anti-Virus Software?
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Trying to find out what the best anti-virus software program is at the moment.
I'm currently using PC-Cillin, which, IMO, is great. The only thing is, when I try to continue my membership, all tech support can give me is my registration information, which doesn't do me much good, nor did it answer my question as to how to continue my membership.
With that unimpressive response, I think I'll look elsewhere.
So, best anti-virus software?

Norton is good.

eh, the best one out there is the one youre giving up on
norton seems to cause more problems than even the free stuff.

i have norton and i don't have any problems w/it.

I have been using norton for about 4 months, and it causes all sorts of problems. I'm actually hoping to try a Trend Micro product soon, their online scan is fantastic.

I use PC-cillin and just recently recieved an email from them that contained a link which allowed me to pay $13.95 to continue my subscription. That covers another year of access to updates.
It didn't seem that complicated to me.

AVG works best.

It shouldn't be, right? I got the same e-mail. When I clicked the link to continue my membership, it told me I wasn't a registered customer. It didn't even take any information from me.
I don't want to give up on PC-Cillin, because it really is a fantastic program, but I don't know what to do. Tech support has been unhelpful.

Have you tried to register again either by following the steps within the software, or the Online Registration?

AVG is good and free, but Norton is the best!

I looked at the online registration page. No luck.
Trying the e-mail thing again since they're offices don't seem to be open on the weekends.

Hands Down Norton Corporate and Home Edition are the best!
PS One glitch, you have to disable it usually to log onto Novaworld to play the Delta Force series, etc.

I really like AVG, but then I only have experience of the free ones and Norton which I never bothered updating.

Home Edition will automatically update itself.

The best anti virus software is:
PANDA ANTIVIRUS PLATINUIM 2004
Its nang.

Norton 2003 for me, tis good also for detecting trojans which most of the free AV software won`t.

I give up. No luck with the offer, and tech support didn't know wtf was going on. I may just end up buying PC-Cillin 2004 since the upgrade will be cheaper than flat out buying the program.
I have a folder in Hotmail to log all my PC-Cillin messages...22 messages to and from tech support, and about 4 or 5 different correspondents. =/

Hello, i would suggest you tried Anti-Vir Personal Edition, this is completely free, but please be aware to choose the english version, this is a german program, other than that is is very easy to use and minimal buttons to press, but everything is automatic. And it has even detected viruses, and at the time i had 3 other virus scanners on my computer and they did not detect the viruses, but Anti-Vir did, i was very suprised, one of the virus scanners that did not detect the virus was panda virus scan program. Personaly i prefer McAfee Virus scan 8, it is fantastic, it has loads of new features like if you get a virus, then it sends tracing info back to McAfee, you can also bring a world map up of the most infected areas in the world. Sounds Great, i did not used to like it but i like it now, and i have never had any problems with it at all, and i never have problems with any of my games.

I don't even know why they call em anti-virus they should call them we'll tell u when u have a virus than you'll have to delete an important windows file or download a fix but than you cant cuz your PC reset every minute because of RPC. IF you get blaster goto start run and type in shutdown -a.
I like AVG cept it doesnt give you a like to the virus fix. Run firewalls if you have broadband also will reduce viruses like trojans.
