Toshiba laptop

I have an older Toshiba laptop. model 2405cd I lost the floppy drive so I removed the hardrive to reformat it. I loaded windows 95 on it via another laptop. when i put it back in the toshiba. It wont recocnize the harddrive. even if I just format it or fdisk it.
I can put the harddrive in 2 other laptops and it works fine, I can also put another harddrive in the toshiba and it regognizez it fine. Is there a certain way it replace this hard drive in a toshiba 2405cd or older ones?
