Error: setupdd.sys could not be loaded

So I finally bought an OS for my newly build computer but get the following error message: (on a blue screen that says Windows setup at the top)
File setupdd.sys could not be loaded.
The error code is 4.
Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit.
I have an A7n8x deluxe mobo, Athlon 2600 Barton CPU, 512MB Kingston DDR SDRAM, and two lite-on drives(one CDRW and one DVD)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I found this and this . Hope it helps.

That helped solved the error code 4 problem. Thanks Now more problems
It ran setup a for a little bit then said I didn't have a hard drive(I have a Seagate SATA btw). I jiggled the connections a little bit, turned the computer back on and now it is stuck at "verifying DMI pool data." This can also be from the hard drive settings not being correct so I'm thinking this might be the problem.
So where can I check the settings of my hard drive. Windows is not yet installed and the BIOS does not(to my knowledge) control SATA drives?
Any advice on my next step?
Also, do have to competely turn off my computer to mess with the internal hardware? While trying to fix these problems I keep having to mess around inside my case. I turn my computer completely off when I do this so I have cold booted about ten times today and am worried about tiring out my system before I even get to use it.

I know zip about SATA drives, but yes be sure to turn off and unplug the comp before messing with anything inside the case, will save you fried computer parts and possibly electrocution as well!

Ah-hah! Found this . Does that help?

OK I noticed that during the boot process the monitor lists my SATA drive for a few seconds so my BIOS recognizes it. Still stuck on "verifying DMI pool data." Any suggestions?

I don't know a whole lot about some things, but I'm a whiz at searches! Check this out and see if it tells you anything that will help.

Wow...you posted while I was writing mine.
Thanks I'm pretty sure that was the problem...If I could only get back to that point. I'm still stuck on the "verifying dmi pool data" line right after the boot PCI device listings. All I did for this to happen was unhook the SATA drive and put it back again.

Well, just double check the connections again, power and IDE on all drives I guess. I would think that may be the problem since you have been fooling with them. Good Luck! Let us know what happens.

Wow...we posted at the same time twice in a row!!! I check out that site.

Make that three times in a row. I'll recheck my connections.

Serious typing going on around here!

I am now completely at a loss. I rechecked every connection, even tried a different SATA cable.
The computerhope website lists these as possible problems.
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000474.htm
1. Corrupt boot files on the computer.
2. Settings for hard disk drive are not correct.
3. Boot devices not set properly.
4. BIOS corrupt or misc. setting not set properly.
5. Connections loose or disconnected.
6. Bad Hard disk drive or other bad hardware.
I thought it would be number 5 because all I did for it to happen was disconnect and reconnect the SATA cable. I re-re-re checked all the connections and the problem still persists.
I don't see how it could be number 1 because I'm booting from a CD. The SATA is not controlled saved in CMOS so I don't think it could be number 2. My boot settings are set properly(floppy,HDD,CDROM) so I don't think its number 3. I don't see how it could be number 4 because I havent made any recent changes to the BIOS, I barely made any changes to it in the first place.
Is there a chance that in the 20 or so times I cold booted my computer that some component was corrupted? Besides the first 30 seconds or so of the Windows setup, I havent even run a program.

I think I got it all figured out. I think Windows setup put a few files on my hard drive before it said it didn't recognize it. I changed my boot sequence to put the CDROM infront of the HDD and it finally got passed the "verifying DMI..." error and am back to 'Windows not recignizing my hard drive during setup' errror. But I think your Seagate link was right and I found a driver on the ASUS site that I think will work.

Yeah, if the OS didn't completely install all of the files that would make it impossible to boot from the hd. Hope you get the rest figured out. Good Luck!

For the setupd.dll error .. make sure that the hard drive jumpers/settings are correct. if you have multiple disk drives make sure that the drives are set to one master one slave unless on different ide cables. I encountered this error.. and it resolved. otherwise it is a different conflict with another of your hardware items.
