brightstor arcserve job log

dear friends,
I'm facing a problem at one of my client sites, who is using Brightstor Arcserve V9 backup solution on win2000. the main problem is , it doesn't show activity logs and job logs in the manager window. sometimes, it writes a .log file for some jobs, but I have to go to log directory and open that text file from thereon, but it happens only with one in ten or so jobs, otherwise it dosen't write any log file for the jobs. This is not a big problem if backup job finishes properly without any error, but , for the jobs having error, I can't find any way to view the errors on the jobs, so , I'm totally helpless in this kind of issues.
it's very urgent to rectify this problem asap for me, because from 3-4 days, I'm unable to take all backups properly.
